DL21C welcomes Harold Ford, Jr.- MSNBC Political Analyst and DLC Chairman

Bennett Media Studios
723 Washington Street (b/t Bank and W. 11th); B/C/E/L/1/2/3 to 14th St.
New York

On March 1, the New York Times published an Op-Ed by Harold Ford, Jr. where he addressed why he would not run for the US Senate in 2010.

The months leading up to this announcement had rocked the New York and national political establishments. Ford, a 5-term Congressman, business executive, and centrist Democrat, had considered running for Senate in New York. His no-nonsense, independent thinking was heralded by many and certainly gave us all a lot to think and talk about.

In early 2010, Ford wrote that " New Yorkers expect a politics where politicians do what's right based on independent judgment, free of political bosses trying to dictate. And New Yorkers want an honest and serious debate about how to grow our economy, create new jobs downstate and upstate and keep New York state and our country safe."

Congressman Ford has remained active in civic life in New York, and his book, Davids and Goliaths, hits bookshelves later this summer.

Join us as Congressman Ford gives us his take on the current state of NY and national politics, 2010, and much more....

See you next Tuesday night!
